This collection was inspired by the current cultural divide between Israeli-Ethiopian immigrants and the rest of Israeli society--two cultures that, while identifying as the same, remain so ultimately separated. I began with the idea of communicating this divide visually by combining traditional Ethiopian and Israeli clothing in a way that seems disjointed and unnatural, highlighting this feeling of separation by creating garments that have two clear, opposing elements within them.
